WARNING: The actual comic shows a large amount of gore and deals with the trauma of parental loss
It’s October and for this month’s Nerdcore Friday, we’ll focus on magic and monsters! Starting with our very own va-va-voom vampire, Devlin Waugh.
We featured Daddy Waugh a while back but Rebellion UK released another trade paperback collection of our favorite bloodsucker. The TPB culminated in a short story titled “A Very Large Splash” and it features the son of one of the nurses in “Swimming in Blood” (there’s even a panel with a callback, kinda cute).
Original title: Devlin Waugh Blood Debt (chapter “A Very Large Splash”)
Writer: Aleš Kot
Artist: Mike Dowling
Letterer: Annie Parkhouse
Publisher: Rebellion UK (Judge Dredd Megazine 415-420/2019-2020; TPB 2021)
Warning: I’ve tried cleaning up some of the gore and blood but again, if you’re interested in reading the actual book, there’s a lot of violence as you’d expect from a Dredd story.
