We’re ending our sci-fi January Nerdcore Friday with the work of not one but two science fiction greats: Moebius (aka Jean Giraud) and Dan O’Bannon.

Dan O’Bannon wrote the screenplay for one of our favorite movies, Aliens (thank you for saving Jonesy the cat, Ripley!), and in The Long Tomorrow, the protagonist is shown fucking a member of the shape-shifting race called the Arcturians.

And yes, Arcturians (or an “Arcturian poontang”) is also mentioned in James Cameron’s Aliens, definitely as a nod to this lore and placing the xenomorph universe (and by extension the Yautja/Predator and the Terminator universes) in the same realm.

Sorry for geeking out.

Also, did you know Moebius was the classmate of both Valérian Creators Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières? We’ve featured Valérian on our past Nerdcore Friday as well.

The Long Tomorrow is in the fourth Moebius collection. This Nerdcore entry also features panels from other short comics in the anthology.
