Ah, ancient Rome. It’s always a reliable source of debauchery. That’s why for the whole month of September, Dollsexposed visits this era.
Eagles of Rome by Dargaud/Europe Comics is considerably tamer than its contemporaries like Caligula one and two with their gratuitous depiction of violence and gore.
Honestly, when I saw the cover, I was anticipating some gay sex between the two main characters. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Safe for one (almost) gay rape, a measly orgy panel, and a pederasty taunt that results in a castration threat, there’s almost no hint of non-straight sex.
If you’d rather see full-on gay sex, read The Terrible Pope by the great Jodorowsky. It’s not exactly ancient Rome, but you get the idea.
