It feels like only yesterday I put Chrissy in his first dress, and my, how things have evolved.
Glamming up Chrissy is not an easy task. He has a specific body type (squat, muscular), and I really don’t want to repaint his head sculpt as it’s an original Chris Redfield from Hot Toys.
I look at muscular women for inspiration (like Serena Williams) and, of course, the great Billy Porter.
Following the storyline, Matt bought this dress for Chrissy, and he has a particular taste of what his fiancรฉ slash sub slut must wear in public. But since this is for a party, the gown needs to be the right mix of classy and slutty.
The sheer, iridescent, four-way stretch mesh fabric was found at Joann. I purchased a similar fabric from Blue Moon and it shed the glitter foil like a nightmare.
Chrissy’s main color is pink but I also want his gold accessories to pop. Pink goes better with silver, steel, or gunmetal. And this purple fabric with a magenta undertone complements the gold jewelry and accessories.
Although Chrissy has a tapered waist, it’s still not womanly. And so, I used strategic cut-outs and a mermaid skirt to create an hourglass shape. The sleeves help tone down Chrissy’s muscular arms and also hide his hand joints.
As I was taking photos (and videos) of Chrissy’s new gown, I realized how much it looked like Fashion Royalty’s Divining Beauty Adele Makeda’s look. It’s a full-circle experience since the earring and bracelet (with the teardrop crystal) are from Adele Makeda.
The sunray halo crown made its first appearance in “The Princess and the Barbarian,” one of Chrissy’s hardcore fantasy stories. I thought it was too good not to be reused. Pairing it with the dress makes Chrissy look like Lady Liberty meets the fabulous Evil Lynn from Masters of the Universe.
Yes, the fringe purse may look pretty, but all those rhinestones and metal weigh it down. It slipped off Chrissy’s hand a few times during the shoot. I was going to do more of a chevron fringe but I decided to do a flowing graduated style.
One of the heels of the gold stilettos broke during the “Girls in Gold Boots” shoot, so I had to replace both heels. I was glueing rhinestones to one shoe and halfway through I decided not to re-replicate the gold spiked Louboutins that Kylie Minogue wears in the Get Outta My Way video and instead make a new pair.
Topping everything off is the yellow ribbon, a symbol of hope and support for the hostages abducted by the terror group Hamas from Israel on October 7, 2023.
