Also known as The Folsom David and The Castro David, this statue was the creation of Mike Caffee and became the icon of Fe-Be’s, the first leather bar on Folsom Street on San Francisco.

There are two Leather David statues at TOM House. One is painted and located in one of the bedrooms, and the other is the unpainted glazed plaster statue in the main bathroom, securely bolted to the countertop.
Today’s series is a hybrid of homages. It’s safe to say that when Tom drew his own David erotica (signed 1977), he was influenced by an erotic statue by another great queer artist, Michelangelo.
Caffee also used Michelangelo’s David and remade him in his own image.
Chrissy, @toyphotostudio’s main cast member, plays the part of the mesmerized tourist (and a size comparison to the statue who is 30″ tall). His handmade clothes were inspired by Rufskin’s Tom of Finland 2015 collection.
