Tom of Finland’s Death Anniversary Week Celebration, November 7 – 13, 2022 @dollphotostudio

In this post:

We’re kicking off Tom of Finland’s Death Anniversary Week celebration with “Gar in Pleasure Park.”

This series of photos features Gar, Dollsexposed.com’s resident leatherman. It’s inspired by “Kake: Pleasure Park” (signed 1984), one of Tom’s most recognizable short comics.

The story follows Kake’s adventure in the cruisy, titular park as he, as he always does, becomes an orgy magnet. He soon finds himself surrounded by various men, from a sailor to an officer to a blue-collar worker.

The Tom of Finland Foundation (TOM House) has not one but two real-life Pleasure Park signs. One of them says “Welcome to Carrington Galen’s Pleasure Park.”

Galen (1965-2016) was responsible for creating the Pleasure Park at TOM House. He planted many of its trees, including the Brugmansias (Angel’s Trumpets).

The TOM House gardens are truly an oasis in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles.

Gar is joined by The Rebel Doll, who was graciously lent by The Tom of Finland Foundation.

I actually bought the Rebel doll back decades ago when it first came out and had him shipped to Indonesia from Australia (I think). Sadly I had to leave him behind when I moved to the US.

Dollsexposed showcases queer erotica, kink, fetish, and activism through twelve-inch doll photography. Their adventures in the doll world began in 2011 before establishing a home on dollsexposed.com eleven years later.

Dollsexposed's works have been displayed at Seattle Erotic Art Festival and Los Angeles Leather Getaway.
