Remember Mean Girls? The main baddie, Regina George, likes to use the R-word. This is how Tina Fey signals to the viewers that whatever Regina’s redeeming qualities are, she disregards culturally insensitive words and uses slurs like she uses lipgloss. And that makes her a villain.
I don’t wear animals or use any products that were tested on animals with a few exceptions (like life-saving drugs and vaccines). I also turned vegetarian practically overnight after reading Linda & Paul McCartney’s story on PETA’s website in 2023.
This is why in my sixth-scale universe, fur coats (along with being a GOP voter, anti-abortion, homophobic, transphobic, and pro-gun) signify that a character is going to have an unsavory storyline.
This doesn’t mean that the characters who are vegan, anti-gun, and queer or queer-friendly aren’t assholes. It’s just that their assholeness is less defined.
And so, without further ado, I present you, Daddy Makoa.
